Celebrating Tradition, Healing, and Community Connection

Honoring the Spirit of Sempoashochitl

The Festival del Sempoashochitl (Marigold Festival) is a vibrant celebration of culture, remembrance, and the traditions that connect us. Hosted by Shochicalli and Tualatin Hills Parks & Recreation District, the festival honors the flor de muertos—the marigold, a sacred flower that lights the way for our loved ones during Día de Muertos.

Guests will enjoy live music, Aztec dance performances, colorful altars, cultural art, and delicious food, alongside a community market full of handcrafted treasures.

Narce Rodríguez: Candles, Flowers, and Healing Energy

This year, Narce Rodríguez joins the festival as a featured artisan and community advocate, offering her handmade candles and floral creations that carry both beauty and intention.
Each candle and arrangement is crafted with care—infused with ancestral wisdom and designed to uplift, heal, and inspire connection.

Visitors can meet Narce at her booth to explore:

  • 🌼 Hand-poured candles inspired by the colors and symbolism of the marigold
  • 🌸 Floral arrangements honoring remembrance and renewal
  • 💛 Gifts and pieces that blend tradition, spirituality, and community artistry

A Celebration for All Ages

Narce’s work reflects her deep belief that light and nature can help us reconnect with our roots, offering warmth and meaning in times of celebration and reflection. Stop by Narce’s table to learn more about her work, pick up a meaningful gift, or simply share stories and light with your community.
This is a chance to connect, reflect, and celebrate together through art, healing, and culture.

“May the marigold’s glow remind us of those who came before and guide us toward a brighter tomorrow.” — Narce Rodríguez
