Sana Sana con Tortillas Workshop

Healing through food, memory, and community.

Gather in Community for Sana Sana con Tortillas

Join Ancestros Omeyocán for Sana Sana con Tortillas, a healing workshop centered on food, memory, and community connection. This gathering invites participants to make tortillas together while creating space for honest conversation, shared stories, and reflection on how our grandmothers and ancestors cared for us through cooking, gathering, and nourishment.

This workshop is designed to support community healing through traditional food preparation and meaningful dialogue. Together, participants will cook, remember, laugh, cry, and honor the wisdom passed down through generations.

What You Will Experience

During this workshop, participants will prepare handmade tortillas and other traditional foods in community. The gathering will include space for conversations around community healing, family and intergenerational trauma, stress from the current political climate, and the importance of remembering traditional teachings through cooking and gathering.

Together, the group will prepare handmade tortillas, nopales, frijoles with epazote, guacamole, salsa fresca, and aguas frescas.

Why Attend Sana Sana con Tortillas

Sana Sana con Tortillas is more than a cooking workshop. It is a community circle rooted in remembrance, care, and ancestral wisdom. Through food and shared conversation, participants will have the opportunity to reconnect with tradition, honor their stories, and support one another through today’s challenges.

This gathering welcomes anyone who feels called to cook, heal, reflect, and nourish themselves in community.
